Position Overview:
As a Trailer Technician at North Central Utility, you will play a crucial role in our company's success by performing mechanical repairs and maintenance on trailers. You will work closely with our team of experienced technicians, ensuring that all repairs are completed efficiently and accurately. This is “safety sensitive” position, requiring pre-employment and post-accident drug testing.
Responsibilities:
- Perform a variety of trailer repairs
- Perform preventative maintenance on trailers
- Perform DOT inspections on trailers
- Inspect, trouble shoot, and repair trailer bodies, systems, and components
- Inspect, service, and replace trailer parts
- Test all systems and equipment for performance issues
- Compile inspection reports, document repairs and report findings to manager
- Use and promote industry best practices
- Maintain and promote a safe work environment
- Use and promote PPE and the use of safety equipment
- Assist Service Manager as needed
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent preferred
- Driver's License (Required)
- Basic set of tools
- Previous experience preferred
- Computer skills
- High mechanical aptitude
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Welding or fabrication experience preferred
- Forklift experience preferred
- Ability to meet the physical demands of the position including, but not limited to the ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, twist, reach overhead, stoop, squat repetitively and for long periods of time
